Paul Davis, Jr.

Paul Davis Jr. has served as our pastor since February 2001. He was saved at the age of 23. He was called to preach in 1981 and entered the pastorate at the age of 29. He began as a bi-vocational pastor at Belcher’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pennington Gap, VA while continuing to work as a coal mining electrician for Westmoreland Coal Company. After being laid off from the mining industry, Paul became a full time pastor. He served at Belcher’s Chapel for 14 years. In 1995, Paul graduated from the Seminary Extension program. He also served as pastor at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Wise, Virginia for 3 years. Throughout his years for service, he has served on several committees with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. Most importantly, there have been several come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior through the preaching and teach of God’s Word.
Paul has a genuine passion and concern for the citizens of our community. He has been referred to as the “shepherd to the shepherd-less”. Mostly commonly, he is known as “Preacher Paul”.
Paul and his wife Jean have two children; Stephanie and Kevin. His daughter, Stephanie, is married to Mike Sprinkle of Saint Charles, Virginia.
